Privacy Policy

1. Client-Side Tools & Local Processing

FreeToolkit is engineered with a privacy-first, client-side-first architecture. Wherever technically feasible, your files, images, and data are processed entirely within your local browser using WebAssembly, Canvas API, and JavaScript. This means your data never leaves your device for these operations.

Examples of fully client-side tools include: Image Compressor, Image Resizer, WebP Converter, Word Counter, Case Converter, JSON Formatter, Base64 Encoder/Decoder, JWT Decoder, Regex Tester, and all calculators (EMI, SIP, GST, BMI, Loan, Discount, Percentage, Age, Currency).

2. Server-Side File Processing Lifecycle

Certain resource-intensive operations (such as PDF compression, PDF merging, PDF splitting, PDF-to-Word conversion, and AI Background Removal) require temporary server-side processing.

  • Files are transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption and processed in volatile (RAM-only) memory.
  • Processed output is returned directly to your browser.
  • All uploaded and processed files are immediately and permanently purged upon response completion — zero long-term storage.
  • We do not inspect, index, copy, or retain any portion of your uploaded content.

3. Information We Collect

FreeToolkit collects minimal data necessary to operate the service:

  • Account Information (Optional): If you create an account for Pro features, we collect your name, email address, and payment information (processed securely by our payment processor).
  • Usage Analytics: We collect anonymized, aggregate usage data via Google Analytics (page views, popular tools, geographic region, error frequencies) to improve service reliability.
  • Local Preferences: Theme settings and recently-used tool history are stored in your browser's localStorage and are never transmitted to our servers.
  • Contact Form Submissions: If you contact us, we collect your name, email, and message content solely to respond to your inquiry.

4. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdSense)

FreeToolkit uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense uses cookies, including the DoubleClick DART cookie, to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites on the Internet.

  • Google's use of the DART cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to FreeToolkit and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You may also opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices.
  • For more information about how Google collects and uses data, please review Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to monitor aggregate traffic patterns (such as total pageviews, popular tools, geographic regions, and generic error frequencies) to ensure service reliability and improve user experience. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymized data. You can learn more about Google Analytics data practices at Google's partner sites policy.

6. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

FreeToolkit and its third-party partners may use the following types of cookies:

  • Essential Cookies: Required for basic site functionality such as theme preferences and session management.
  • Analytics Cookies: Used by Google Analytics to understand usage patterns and improve the service.
  • Advertising Cookies: Used by Google AdSense and the DoubleClick DART cookie to serve relevant advertisements. These cookies do not collect personally identifiable information.

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain features on our website.

7. Data Retention

We retain different types of data for different periods:

  • Uploaded files: Immediately purged after processing (zero long-term retention).
  • Account data: Retained as long as your account is active. You may request account deletion at any time.
  • Analytics data: Retained in anonymized aggregate form as configured by Google Analytics (typically 14 months).
  • Contact form submissions: Retained only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry.
